I was reading a story this morning that just blew me away. Really. It did. It said that 34% of people ended their relationships through an email. An email. How cold is that I ask you? Pretty darn cold I think. But wait. It gets worse.
13% changed their Facebook status to single in order to let their now-ex-partners know that they had just become exes and 6% made the announcement on Twitter. Yes, Twitter. The place where just about anyone can read what you write without you even knowing that they are reading it.
The story went on to say that only 2% of people broke up via text. Whew. Isn't that a relief. <-- Sarcasm. BY TEXT?? Come on people, where is your sense of respect? To me that is completely disrespectful! Have some courage and honesty for Pete's sake! And how about a little compassion while we're at it please.
Only 38% of people surveyed had enough courtesy to break up the old fashioned way: face to face. Well I say KUDOS to those 38%. If you're going to break someones heart at least be nice about it.
