Dirty Santa party

I went to a Dirty Santa party last night at my favorite little bar here in town, Shovelheads. It's a cool place filled with mostly cool people. I feel right at home there. Around all the bikers. That's my kind of people if we get right down to the nitty gritty of the matter. They have big hearts & know how to have fun. I think that's mostly because being a real biker can be dangerous. Motorcycle accidents are increasing as motorcycle popularity increases. There are an average of 50,000 motorcycle accidents each year in the United States and thousands of lives are lost. If you choose that lifestyle, you tend to live each day as your last. You know there are no guarantees in life and you want to be free on the open road. Those are attitudes and ideas that appeal to me.



So it should come as no surprise then that a biker bar is the type of place I like to hang out at more than anyplace else. I've grown to love most of the people at Shovelheads and think of them as family. They've been there for me in times that I felt like I had no one. I really appreciate that.


Last nights party was a lot of fun. I would have pictures but my friend hasn't posted them yet....maybe tomorrow I can share all the fun we had!


Are you wondering what I got as a gift? Is it making you crazy that I'm dancing around the subject and not just getting to my point? Well chill out! I was just fixing to get there...


I got....drumroll please....


rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat...sorry, that's the only way I know how to do a drumroll...

I got Strawberry flavored motion lotion...and no body wanted to trade with me. Imagine that. (haha). It wasn't all bad though...I'm sure I could've ended up with something much worse...like the bag of butt wipes & tampons that one girl ended up with.

Well, I'm kind of stuck here...

I've been a busy bee

I've baked cookies for a week now. A week. It's a little insane. But now I'm done! Woohoo! Oh, but wait, I haven't seen any of you for that week. Boo! Tell you what...you play this game and I'll come visit you as soon as I'm done posting in all my other blogs. Sound like a good deal? Cool beans. Have fun & I'll see you at your place ASAP!

Cha Cha y'all

Our nephew got married on Saturday night (which I'm showing off on just about all of my blogs today *wink*) and of course there was dancing. This isn't the best quality video but you can tell how much fun everyone was having!

*I tried to get the sound to play here, it didn't work. Then I uploaded it to YouTube...still didn't work. Then I tried to upload it to Photobucket and it said it was the wrong format so for now you just have to imagine the sound. Blah, I know. Sorry! I'm trying to fix it!*

I decided today to have a little Halloween contest (in my own mind) and then randomly select the winners (that are my personal Halloween photo favorites of my family & other stuff that belongs to me). It's not rigged at all (yes, it is) and the winners were selected in a highly scientific way (NOT!). On with the show!

It's almost here!

I'm so excited that one of my favorite holidays is almost here! I can't wait to see all the costumes & kids on Halloween night :)

Slowly but surely

Our schedule has been...hectic. Yes, that's an excellent word for it. Hectic. We did take a little time off and went to the beach for a day. It was great! I need about 2 or 300 more days like that. 

I know I've really sucked at both reading and writing in my blogs lately. I hate that because I love my blogs and your blogs. But eventually maybe things will settle down enough for me to get back to my loves.

For now I just keep on dreaming about that one day...

*Since I didn't drink any, I can't tell you if Benny's does indeed have America's coldest beer but I think he deserves the title just for the artwork on the door. And the fact that he has bicycle parking. That just rocks.

Sweet sorrow

Sometimes I'm really odd. I should say I have a love of all things odd. Which in turn makes me odd.

One of the loves I have is for words. I love onomatopoeia ...buzz, schlop!, ding!, crash!, meow, ribbit, beep beep!, zoom. If you didn't know already or didn't figure it out by my acting it out, onomatopoeia is a word that imitates a sound or suggests the source of a sound. I love that!

But what I really love are oxymorons. An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines words that are normally opposite in meaning. Today, just for fun, I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you :)

• Sweet sorrow: While it is sweet when someone I don't care for gets in trouble I wouldn't say their sorrow was sweet..

• Legally drunk: If it's legal then why do people get in trouble for it?

• Extremely average: It's REALLY just like everything else...As a matter of fact it's MORE like everything else than everything else is!

• Constant variable: Maybe the variable is constantly changing...?

• Living dead: Not only are these guys scary but they're doing the impossible! Wait. Right? I mean you can't be dead and alive at the same time can you? Say no. Quickly!

• Friendly fire: Hello? They're SHOOTING AT YOU. How is that friendly??

• Organized mess: I've seen this. It can happen.

And my favorite...

• Jumbo shrimp: Delicious little but can be big guys...especially dipped in cocktail sauce :D

I'm actually very sick today...physically not mentally...  Hopefully I'll get to visit y'all soon. For now I'm going back to bed. I hope y'all are doing good and have a great day :)

Button, button, who's got the button?

I have been having so many sleepless nights lately that it's starting to get on my nerves. But anyway, that's a different post.

Last night, when I couldn't sleep, I got to playing around and ended up making several different blog buttons. I can admit that I'm somewhat of a nerd. You don't have to tell me :)
